I build the backend that crypto and AI products run on.

I'm Abid Jamal, the engineer behind Web3Ethers. Remote · working with teams worldwide.

I started in a research lab. At COMSATS I spent two years on blockchain and VANET security and published 7 peer-reviewed papers with IEEE and Springer. That habit stuck: I want to understand how a system fails before I trust it.

Then I went to build. As CTO and lead blockchain developer at CNX Network, I scaled a DeFi ecosystem to 40k+ users and $400k+ revenue: ERC20/BEP20 contracts, launchpads and dApps, across web and mobile. At WebsiteAI.io I wired AI automation to blockchain transactions, wallet flows and crypto payments.

Since 2024 I've led backend architecture for Alara, an enterprise AI platform used by major banks, at WAI Industries (ISSM.ai): FastAPI microservices for regulated environments, Kafka/Redis event pipelines and GCP deployments, plus product ownership. At Meddela I'm the main developer on enterprise platforms for Messagepoint, including a multi-tenant platform with SSO and permissions.

That mix is the point. After 10+ years as a senior full-stack and backend engineer, I can take a crypto project from contract to bot to analytics, and I can build AI backends for regulated environments like banking.

Engineering philosophy

  1. Backend depth over surface-level abstractions

I want to understand the data model, the failure modes and the transaction lifecycle before I write the first endpoint or contract.

  2. Infrastructure before intelligence

AI features are only as good as the pipelines, permissions and observability under them.

  3. Security, observability and correctness are non-negotiable

In crypto, a bug is a loss. Tests, safety checks and clear logs ship with the feature, not after it.

  4. Systems that scale cleanly and fail predictably

Upgrade paths, idempotent batch jobs and boring, well-understood failure behaviour.

Tell me what you are building. A free 20-minute call is enough to tell whether I am the right engineer for it, and what it would take.
